The Waiting Continues

OK, first thing to do… add a confirmation box to the “clear” button on SiteBlogger. I just lost about an hour’s typing because I was trying to hit save and accidentally hit clear. Oops.

I wrote about how long it’s taking to wipe my old hard drive (see yesterday). It’s taken about 48 hours as of now (I think) and I don’t think it will be done until tomorrow night at this rate. Kinda annoying, but oh well.

Next up is information on my little PDA, a Dell Axim x50v. Now that I’ve made the switch to Mac and started a new semester I’ve been using it as a PDA (not just a GameBoy) and it’s a great little gadget. It works almost perfectly on OS X thanks to a little program called The Missing Sync. Microsoft doesn’t want Mac users to use Windows Mobile PDA apparently, but you can. While the hardware is nice Windows Mobile 2003SE has some obvious problems. Network configuration is a nightmare. The way applications stay open when you close them, slowing eating up all your memory if you don’t use a 3rd party utility to ACTUALLY CLOSES THEM, is a major pain and makes no sense. Frankly I wish Apple would bring the Newton back. Despite complaints, those things were amazing for their day and I’d LOVE to see what Apple could do with them now with the better technology available.

Not much else to say. Added a small section about me, but that is basically it. It’s looking like I’ll have plenty of homework this semester (as opposed to previous ones) so my programming may be impeded on anyway. We’ll see.
