About To Start Testing

May 12th, 2005 · No Comments

Much has happened to me recently (ever gotten a very large bruise? A pain huh?). But there is only one real reason for this post. I’ve got just about all the basic work on the SiteMaker update done. Short of a few lines of glue code to get things started, I should have everything set to be able to make my site with the new object-oriented version. The code to process both normal directories and blog directories (the only kind my site uses right now) is done. I haven’t tested any of it (he he he), but it is time to test (which I’ll do tomorrow, there is too much good TV tonight). Then I just write the updated version of SiteUploader (to upload things) and I’ll be set (basically). Once I get that done, I think I may release it to the public, but I’m not sure yet.

On other programming news, the more I lean in my object-oriented programming class, the more I realize that I REALLY went overboard with the classes and inheritance in IttyBittyCity. That program will need a overhaul too. But before that is the work on SiteBlogger, which won’t happen ’till I’m done with SiteMaker.

And between all this is other work. Besides school, I’ve been helping my Dad by making things for his new company (very temporary business cards, a very temporary website), and helping neighbors get rid of spyware (ever run across Broadcast PC 2.0? That is a VERY tenacious little program). Plus I got my cellphone (a LG-325 with Sprint) to finally talk to my laptop through Bluetooth! Now I don’t need a little cable anymore. Too bad they won’t let us use OBEX.

Until… later.
