SiteMaker and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocense

May 28th, 2005 · No Comments

Well, today hasn’t been a good day. There isn’t much on TV now that it is rerun season, so I thought I’d watch a movie. I just got Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence from Netflix, so I thought I’d watch that. I’ve been looking forward to it. But I can’t watch it. It is in Japanese. There is NO ENGLISH TRACK on the movie. Why didn’t they put a dub track on? Guess I won’t be watching it untill they do or it comes on TV. Just great.

But I have been working some on SiteMaker. Some day I’ll have to move all this stuff into the SiteMaker pages, but for now I’ll just keep writing here. So any way, I just benchmarked the two versions, and here is how they stand:

Old Full One
Real: 1.123s 1.331s 0.692s
Sys: 0.084s 0.127s 0.116s
User: 0.222s 0.222s 0.195s

Total: 1.429s 1.680s 1.003s

As you can see, it runs just a fraction of a second slower than the old. For all the benefits of the new design, that seems pretty good to me. But you have to realize that time is for a full update of the site. If you look at the time to update just one page, the total time is more than 1/3 of a second faster than the old version. Now my site is pretty small at this point, so if you ran a large site there could be a major savings. On to improving things.
