I’ve been trying to think of something I can put up here to make this site more useful and interesting. Not much to do that so far. So here is some more random stuff. I’ve updated a few pages with small changes, although I’d like to do more. I’m thinking of putting up my programs that I have written for POTM.
GameStop
My first random thought is about GameStop. I’ve been a loyal patron of my local store for years now. But the situation over the Nintendo Wii is really annoying me. They won’t let me pre-order the system because they don’t know how many they’ll get. But they will let me pre-order the games (even though they… don’t know how many they’ll get). Worse, the rumor that you’ll have to trade-in $50 worth of stuff to get a Wii seems to be true, at least that’s what an employee told me. I’ll have to speak to the manager there (a nice guy) about this to see if it’s true. If it is… I may stop buying there. I guess the whole EB Games merger turned out bad.
Fun Stuff
I’ve run across a few fun and interesting things over the last week. I heard a story on NPR about something called “Toynbee Tiles“. They are little plaques that someone has placed all over Philadelphia and a few other places with a strange message on them. I also continue to be excited about Guitar Hero 2, even if I am worried a bit about MTV buying Harmonix. Maybe they’ll at least release a soundtrack for this one. The last random thing is there is a Lava Lamp at my work, which is something that I’ve never had (or really had an interest in) but I have to admit the thing can be hypnotic. It is especially interesting when it has just warmed up enough for the wax to move but not enough for it to move freely (like you tend to think of Lava Lamps).
Hello Out There
My last little bit here is that I have been using a neat little Google tool called Analytics to see who has been visiting my site and I must say I am quite surprised by the international traffic my site gets. I’d love to hear what you think of my site, whether you are in the US or not.
