Lots to comment on.
Being a Criminal
At least according to Microsoft. In the last week I have had to install Windows about 6 times. I’ve had to activate it a couple of times, calling MS at least twice (and I think I will need to again). This all started with my mother. I setup Parallels on her Mac. I tried to clone her copy of XP off her old laptop. She only used that thing for playing a few old games, so if I got it in Parallels, she could use that and we could wipe that old laptop. But Windows first required reactivating, then it blew up (with such a drastic change, that doesn’t surprise me much).
So the, I had to install a new copy of Windows. That took all the normal idiocy. It eventually worked, but it took a while.
I got a copy of Parallels for myself and a copy of Windows and installed that. But games were slower than I expect (I wasn’t expecting fast, but it was worse than I though). So then I reinstalled in Boot Camp. This, of course, meant installing twice more (once to install, once to install again after the first one mysteriously locked up and hosed Windows). I’ve yet to activate this copy (since this was the copy I put in Parallels and activated on my machine, so it’s been activated once). But it’s running in both Parallels and Boot Camp on the same install, since Parallels can use the Boot Camp partition as the hard drive, which is awesome.
I hate Microsoft. Nothing like being a criminal and having to plead for the software I already own because something changed.
Final Fantasy XII
I’ve been continuing to play. Still lots of fun. I really like that when my entire party is taken out, I can switch to the other characters to continue the battle. But why can’t I just use all 6 at the start?
Pictures Coming
I know I always say this, but I’ve got more pictures to put up. Maybe today. Big and busy week, we’ll see when I get it done.
